ART DIRECTION
Brand Storytelling  |  Video Production  |  Motion Graphics

I had a particular passion for this client because my very first job in high school was a YMCA Summer Camp Counselor. I have always shared the YMCA’s passion for bettering the community through enriching the lives of children and families. I have had the opportunity to work on several YMCA video shoots, but “Passport to the Best Summer Ever” was the first shoot in which I was able to truly showcase my full range of art direction skills. From storyboarding in the break room, to working on-set, to final editing in the studio, having the opportunity to share my passions with the Y again was a dream come true.

Where might you find a passport to the best summer ever? At a YMCA Summer Camp. This was the underlying message the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA sought to emulate in their 2017 seasonal broadcast. The guidelines for the project were simple; increase Summer Camp attendance and stay within national guidelines. With a clear and concise message to convey, we brought together the video production and creative teams to brainstorm a narrative that in-turn maxed out camp attendance. We kept it fun and adventurous, really playing up the FOMO (fear of missing out) that would take place if you didn’t get to partake in one of the camps for yourself.

VIDEO PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

I have always had a love for the fast-paced environment that flourishes on sets. As the video production assistant I was often tasked with handling prompters, camera equipment, lighting adjustments, and live shots. I have even jumped in as an “actor” when needed. I enjoyed the video production aspect of this position for it provided a great opportunity to gain a breadth of knowledge from an array of hands-on experiences. Check out the videos below and see if you can point me out!
